 16CrMo44 steel introduction

    16CrMo44 is a special steel with good process and welding properties. The steel has good process and welding properties, and high rupture strength at 500~550ºC. When the temperature exceeds 550ºC, the oxidation resistance becomes worse and the creep strength decreases significantly. The thermal strength and strength of the steel will decrease when it is at 500~550ºC for a long time.

Application	16CrMo44 is used to manufacture 510ºC high and medium pressure steam conduit, header, superheater and forgings with 550ºC wall temperature.

 

6: Heat Treatment

      Heat treatment temperatures, rate of heating, cooling and soaking times will vary due to factors such as the shape and size of each component. Other considerations during the heat treatment process include the type of furnace, the quenching medium and work piece transfer facilities.     For hot forged rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged or rolled, annealed/QT, rough turned/Black surface.
    For hot forged or hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, Black surface.
    For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed/QT, milled surface/Black surface
    For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed/QT, black surface.
