1: DIN 1.3333 steel introduction
1.3333 High-speed steel is characterized by high hardness, high wear resistance and high heat resistance, which makes it ideally suited for the manufacture of complex thin-edged and impact-resistant metal cutting tools, as well as high-temperature bearings and cold-extrusion dies. Another important characteristic of HSS is its red-hardness, i.e. the ability of the cutting edge to resist softening in a red-hot state when the tool is cutting at high speeds. This characteristic makes HSS excellent in the manufacture of cutting tools for difficult-to-machine metals (such as high-temperature alloys, titanium alloys and high-strength steels, etc.).

6: Heat Treatment
Preheating: Preheat the material to the temperature range of 820~870ºC for preheating, the purpose is to heat the material uniformly and provide conditions for subsequent heating.
Heating: Heat the preheated material to a temperature range of 1180~1200ºC. A salt bath furnace or box furnace can be used for heating to ensure that the material reaches the required temperature.
Quenching: The material heated to a high temperature is quickly immersed in a cooling medium (usually oil) to rapidly cool the material. Quenching gives the material high hardness and strength.
Tempering: The quenched material is heated to a temperature range of 550 to 570°C for tempering. Tempering reduces the internal stresses produced by quenching and improves the toughness and fracture resistance of the material.
Repeated tempering: According to the need, can be carried out several times tempering treatment. Each tempering time is generally 1 hour.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, black surface.
