1: 9260 steel introduction
AISI 9260 steel is the good old AISI 1060 spring steel with added Silicone(Si), whole ~2% of it. That makes 9260 much more shock resistant and tougher than AISI 1060 steel. Therefore, 9260 becomes a better choice for large, hard use blades, and indeed, it is a popular choice for sword making.

6: Delivery condition
For hot forged or hot rolled bar, usually the delivery condition is hot forged or rolled, annealed, rough turned.
For hot forged plate, usually the delivery condition is hot forged, annealed, milled surface.
For hot rolled plate, usually the delivery condition is hot rolled, annealed, black surface.
